
Globe Award Terms and Conditions 2011
- Globe Award is a world covering award which recognises and encourages societies, the corporate sector, individuals and academia that have excelled in the area of sustainability. Globe Award is a non-for-profit organisation with the aim of fostering sustainable development in society. Our role is to inspire actors to do more and to take responsibility through awarding great cases within research, innovations, large corporations and cities.
- The host of Globe Award is Globe Forum in Stockholm, Sweden.
- Globe Awards are handed out in 4 categories: Sustainability Research, Sustainability Innovation, Sustainable City, Sustainability Reporting
- Globe Award is globally-orientated and aimed at:
- Sustainability Research – academia, researchers, students
- Sustainability Innovation – individuals, organizations, innovators
- Sustainable City – cities and municipalities
- Sustainability Reporting – companies and corporations
- Entering the competition is free of charge.
- Nominees and winners from last years can apply again.
- All applications must be submitted in English as well as supporting documentation.
- A valid application form is available at www.globeaward.org and must be filled out properly and uploaded through the same website. Only original Globe Award application forms will be accepted.
- Although supporting documentation is obligatory, it is highly recommended to attach some materials no larger than 2 MB. If you wish to add a bigger file, send it in to the Globe Award secretariat directly.
- An organisation certifies that submitted data is correct.
- An organisation agrees that submitted information in the application can be used to publish and market Globe Award and may be used in the Globe Award research program at Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
- An organisation can win once in 5 years.
- One organisation can submit up till 3 applications.
- Application period is open from 1st October 2010 to 28th February 2011.
- Applications sent after deadline will not be evaluated.
- Applications are assessed, depending on the category, by one of the 4 jury groups which consist of experts who excel in sustainability around the world. The list of the jury members can be found at http://globeaward.org/jury.
- Jury is obliged to announce a list with 3-6 nominated organisations by 4th March 2011 and a list with winners by 28th March. The list will be available at www.globeaward.org and nominees/ winners will be informed by email and/or phone.
- There is one winner in each category.
- The jury’s decision is final. No appeals are acceptable.
- The Globe Award gala dinner with the ceremony will be held in the Nordic Museum in Stockholm 12th May 2011 to honour all Globe Award laureates.
- No financial prize is given.
- Globe Forum covers only the costs of winners’ travel and accommodation for up to 2 persons from each organization and up till 3 nights.
- The jury is obliged to keep the verdict confidential until the official announcement. The winners may be informed sooner.
